A private, encrypted organizer where I keep my accounts, beneficiaries, and estate details in one place.
Legacy Vault is a small, free app I use to gather my important records into one organized document — my accounts and beneficiaries, where my key papers are kept, my wishes, and my life story. It runs right in a web browser. There is no account and no company holding my data: everything I type is saved to a single encrypted file that stays on my own device, protected by a passphrase only I know.
So we can see the whole picture in one place, and so nothing important slips through the cracks in our planning. The Personal Organizer inside the vault is, in effect, my estate-and-finances roadmap. The sections most relevant to our work are below.
Bank accounts, investments, credit cards, and online payment services — with joint owners and POD/TOD beneficiaries noted.
Retirement accounts, Social Security, employer and veteran's benefits, each with its beneficiary.
Life insurance (amounts & beneficiaries) plus home, auto, and health policies and where they're kept.
Mortgages and loans I owe, and money or property owed to me.
Real estate, vehicles, safe deposit box, and other titled or valuable property.
Cryptocurrency, domains, and online assets that are easy to overlook in an estate.
Will; living/revocable trust with trustee & successor trustee; financial power of attorney and my appointed agent; guardianship; any business-succession agreement.
Executor, attorney, accountant, tax preparer, financial advisor, and insurance agent — names and contacts in one list.
You're welcome to open the app and click around — it starts empty, so nothing private is shown: simplehelpers.com/legacy-vault
